We also see a lot of heinous crimes being committed against women, including domestic violence and rape. Women safety is compromised at various places: at home, at the workplace, on the road, in public places and on online platforms.
Discrimination against female starts even before they are born and female foeticide is still prevalent in India to some extent. During their childhood, in many Indian households, girls are often deprived of opportunities when it comes to education and access to facilities. Many times girls are made to drop out of school so that they can perform household chores while boys’ education is continued. Women face discrimination at the workplace as well when it comes to the availability of opportunities.
